The 13th Keiko Abe International Marimba Academy, co-hosted by Toho Gakuen School of Music and Yamaha Corporation, was held for 5 days from July 30th to August 3rd.

Inviting Jean Geoffroy, the professor at Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon, this year’s academy featured 4 days of open master classes and premium concert. Participants not only from Japan but also from other countries had spent quality 5 days with teachers and other participants.

At premium concert held in Yamaha hall, selected students gave great performances. Abe and Geoffroy performed great ensemble, solo and duo pieces. The full audience was impressed by their spectacular performances.
