GUIDE TO THE ACADEMY

• INSTRUMENTS
Woodwinds Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone
Brass Trumpet, Trombone, Horn, Tuba, Euphonium
Percussion Marimba,Percussion

• QUALIFICATIONS
Student any musician who is 15 years or older
Auditor open to any person who is over 12 years old

• SCHEDULE
All instruments : August 2, 11:00a.m.-August 6, 3:00p.m.

• NUMBER TO BE ADMITTED
Brass instruments a total of 42 students
2 classes for Trumpet, 1 classes for Trombone
1 class for Horn, 1 class for Tuba, 1 class for Euphonium
Woodwinds a total of 70 students
3 classes for Flute, 1 class for Oboe
3 classes for Clarinet, 1 class for Bassoon
2 classes for Saxophone
Marimba 1 class
Timpani 1 class
Auditors a total of 250 auditors

• TUITION FEES 
Student 55,000 yen
Auditor 1 day :4,000 yen, 5 days :16,000 yen
High school and junior high school students will be charged 2,000 yen/day, 8,000 yen/5 days.
The Festival concert admission fee is not included with the Tuition fees above.

• TERM FOR APPLICATION
Monay March 10, 2003 through Saturday May 31,2003.

• APPLICATION
The application form should arrive at the following address with all necessary information (name, age, address, telephone number, school or occupation, music career and a cassette tape of the audition repertoire).
Please be aware that the submitted tape will not be returned.

• NOTIFICATION
All participants will be notified by return mail of their acceptance into the Academy by the end of June.

• ACCOMODATION
Students will be drawn from an international pool of applicants. Additionally, home-stay accommodation can be arranged for foreign students.

• LESSONS
The lessons will be conducted in two ways. One-to-one lessons and group lessons.
The individual lessons will be for a duration of 50 minutes each,
4 times per student. All lessons (except Marimba and Percussion) will be with piano accompaniment.
Six pieces from the next page, will be with piano accompaniment.
Students will be allowed to audit the lessons of other students. In addition, practice rooms will also be provided.

• PREMIUM CONCERT
This will be performed by selected students. One student from each class will be selected for this, and will be held on Monday, the 5th of August, from 18:00 at the Concert Hall of the ACT City building, Hamamatsu.
