Yamaha's semiconductor manufacturing business began with the in-house production of LSI sound sources
for electronic musical instruments. The resulting expertise was then applied to development of LSIs for
mobile phones and PC sound sources. We also promoted technological development in new audio and
networking fields such as home theater AV amps and Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)
communication equipment. Today, Yamaha system LSIs used in such products are highly regarded the
world over, and Yamaha will continue to meet the challenge of developing products for this increasingly
demanding market.
