Yamaha offers a wide range of high performance thermoelectric coolers from 1mm×1mm micro-coolers to large scale 20mm×20mm coolers, all tailored to fit the wide variety of customer requirements. Our thermoelectric coolers are ideal for precision temperature control applications, such as the examples given below.

Yamaha has successfully improved the microstructure of its thermoelectric material to provide both lower electrical resistance and thermal conductivity. This has resulted in a further reduction in power consumption.
Yamaha high-efficiency thermoelectric material
Conventional thermoelectric materialYamaha’s high-precision assembly technology enables high-density element packaging. This has allowed us to use a larger volume of heat absorbing material (a 20% increase on our previous products) on thermoelectric coolers of the same size.
Yamaha high-density mounting for thermoelectric cooler elements
Conventional thermoelectric cooler mountingHigh strength thermoelectric material and high-density mounting afford higher strength characteristics than were previously possible (a 20% improvement over our previous products). In addition to resistance to thermal stress, our products are also extremely shock-resistant.
Yamaha’s thermoelectric coolers for optical communications are subjected to reliability testing based on the Telcordia Standard. Moreover, we conduct a range of reliability tests where requested by customers.
Yamaha’s realization of 1mm X 1mm ultra-small thermoelectric modules has allowed us to place thermoelectric coolers inside TO-CANs, making direct cooling and temperature control of lasers and sensors possible.
