SRT Function

The new SRT system lets you choose from three different high-end mic types as well as two mic positions that let you use techniques similar to those used in a recording studio. The system provides a total of six setting patterns. Click the buttons below the photos to hear the differences between various sound settings.
The system also allows mixing of pickup and mic sound elements using the BLEND knob, and control of body resonance with the RESONANCE knob to create a wide range of rich, natural sounds.

THREE HIGH-END MIC TYPES

SRT
Select a microphone type depending on your preference or playing style.
Type 1: Neumann U67
Type 1: Neumann U67
Vintage large diaphragm condenser microphone known for its wide frequency range and excellent dynamic response. Good for all playing styles, the U67 follows phrasing well and gives a full, powerful tone.

Type 1: Neumann U67

Type 1: Neumann U67
Type 2: Neumann KM56
Vintage small diaphragm condenser microphone known for its accurate and delicate yet detailed high-frequency response. Recommended for finger-picking, flat-picking and intricate styles – whether subtle ballads or powerful lead work, the KM56 produces a tone that is both exceptionally clear and full and brilliantly responsive.

Type 2: Neumann KM56

Type 1: Neumann U67
Type 3: Royer R-122
Modern ribbon microphone known for its exceptionally smooth response, gentle high-end and thick, warm tone. Smoothing hard picking with a rounder tone, the R122 is particularly recommended for Jazz and Blues, or any style where a warm, wide, smooth tone is desirable.

Type 3: Royer R-122

PROFESSIONAL MIC SETTING POSITIONS

Focus/Wide
Choose either a close or distant microphone position.
Foucus image
FOCUS
Close mic setting (mic positioned 20-30cm from the guitar). Clearly captures string and body resonance to deliver a fat, expansive sound and excellent projection and crisp response. Good for any playing and phrasing style, a close mic’d sound gives particularly good definition in a live mix.
Wide image
WIDE
Close combined with ambient mic setting (ambient mic positioned a few meters away from the guitar). Close to the ambient sound that the ear hears when listening to a guitar thanks to more ‘room’ sound being captured by the ambient mic. Great for recording or for solo use on-stage.

ADJUSTABLE BODY RESONANCE FREELY

Focus/Wide
No Resonance

Resonance

Use the RESONANCE knob to adjust the level of body resonance. The center position delivers a standard level. Rotate the knob to the right increases the amount of body resonance in the sound, rotating left reduces the body resonance. If you are experiencing too much feedback, rotate the knob back to the left.

* The RESONANCE control is only effective on the mic sound.

BLENDING PICK UP SOUNDS

Blend

The SRT System uses our newly developed piezo-electric “SRT pickup” which is incorporated in the saddle. This design delivers excellent response, stable resonance, superior sound quality, and rich expressiveness. Blending the SRT pickup sound with the mic sound creates a unique and tailored sound perfect for any application.
