		Traditionally, an acoustic guitar neck is carved from a single timber block. As the grain of the timber has to be angled at about 14 degrees to accommodate the headstock, it leaves itself vulnerable to excessive stress. To alleviate the potential of neck movement over time, we have introduced multilayered necks. Our 26 and 36 models feature two solid strips of paddock sandwiched between the mahogany. Our 6 and 16 models feature a strip of rosewood set into the center of the mahogany neck. Both paddock and rosewood have been chosen for their rigidity and we know from past experience that these woods complement mahogany tonally.

		The LL, LS, and LJ26 models feature vintage-style open gear machineheads, further enhancing the traditional aesthetics. Gold- plated and fitted with rounded oval buttons, Yamaha's vintage-style machineheads combine classic looks with contemporary stability and performance.		L series electro-acoustic guitars feature a classic Venetian style body cutaway. Expertly hand-crafted, the cutaway models offer enhanced upper fret access for stage use without sacrificing any of the tone or style of the full bodied models.
		The unique larger bridge on the new L series models provides a more efficient transfer of the string vibrations to the body of the guitar, giving a tight, clear midrange and a full, balanced tone. Handcrafted with chamfered edges, the new bridge design offers a perfect balance of tone, comfort, and style.
