The valve is a very important component which can be almost thought of as the heart of the trumpet. |
Machining and hole formationIn this step, holes are drilled in precise locations. |

BrazingIn this step, the valve casing parts are fitted into a special jig and passed through a furnace to braze the components together without any distortions. |
BoringIn this step, a lathe is used to precisely machine the interior of the brazed valve casing. This step involves machine work and is critical for ensuring quick, smooth piston action. |

The gap between the valve casing and the piston is set to 10 microns on one side. This is such a high level of precision that the valve will not work if even a single strand of hair becomes trapped in the gap. * 10 microns (0.01 mm) is about one-tenth the thickness of a single strand of hair. |
