Welding
In this step, two brass plates are shaped and welded together, after which the seam is smoothed.

Expanding
In this step, water pressure is used to expand the bow from the inside and press it against a mold.

Drawing toneholes
A die which is embedded in the core rod is spun and raised by a machine to create the toneholes (the rims around the holes where the pads touch).
