Yamaha's line of pure audio equipment has won acclaim in the world of high-end audio, and the company has already made a name for itself in both sound and design. With the MCR, our goal was to offer a contemporary identity for Yamaha in the hi-fi mini compo market. What makes a design a treasure to keep, while maintaining the musical nuances expected from a maker of musical instruments? And how can we achieve this, beyond the conventional design language so frequently used with high fidelity audio equipment? When considering these factors, we were reminded of the image of a guitar effects unit. Casual, tough, and durable, any scratches gained merely add to its personality. But what really makes an effects unit appealing are the variations in body color, and the character of its sound that the colors themselves symbolize. When applying these colors to our mini compo design, we were struck with the idea of using powder coated steel for the product body. Steel is extremely durable, and with a character that develops over time. Often used on automobiles and professional audio equipment, powder coating is environmentally friendly and can be carried out on small quantities of products. Moreover, the warmth of the colors and the durable, scratch and corrosion-resistant finish add to the attraction of this coating. 。Powder coating allowed us to offer a wide variety of colors to suit any taste. Imagine, for example, a color that suits your favorite music. Orange perhaps, for driving, distorted rock? Or maybe dark blue, for that midnight jazz feeling. Blue for a folky chorus? With our wide selection, you're sure to find a color perfect for the music you like.
